Nova Sintra clamors for covered sports center to boost sports and culture
Nova Sintra, 4/3/2026 (Bravanews) - In the town of Nova Sintra, there is a growing call from the population for an indoor sports center that can meet the community's sporting and cultural needs. Speaking to Bravanews, several residents say that for many years they have been asking the local authorities to create a suitable space for healthy leisure activities, but so far they have received no concrete answers.
According to the residents, the lack of a covered infrastructure limits activities all year round, especially during periods of rain or strong winds, which often make outdoor events difficult. "Young people need alternatives. We need a space where we can play sports, organize tournaments and also promote cultural activities," said one of the residents heard.
The proposal to build an indoor sports center aims not only to encourage sports among children, young people and adults, but also to create the conditions to host major sporting events, cultural festivals, community meetings and other initiatives that can boost the social dynamics of the city.
For many, the infrastructure would represent a strategic investment in local development, promoting social inclusion, the discovery of talent and greater unity among residents.
